I started this blog because I love to take motorcycle trips both local and around the country. And I love finding that roadside attraction or quaint town and of course the best places to eat. So I'd like to share my adventures with friends old and new. And I would like to hear about yours. Feel free to share. What's the nicest ride you've ever taken? The most scenic ride? The longest ride? Rallies you've been to with thousands or a solo ride? The town you fell in love with? The food that you'd go back for? Talk about the motorcycle shops along the way. We all love a warm friendly face. As they say, a picture is worth a thousand words, so use them to help others share your experience.

I'M BAAAAACK !!

Well, I know it's been a while since we got together and I really don't have much of what can be considered a very good excuse. It's just that after all we went through moving into and cleaning and painting and repairing the house we came to in September, the house that we really want to live in became available in December so we moved next door and proceeded to paint and repair all over again. This is actually the house that we bought in 2003 as our home. So I think that we'll be staying here for quite some time.

I'll post more pictures of the new house when I get them in order but these are just 2 that show the front and the back. We have a bit more living space and a nice Arizona room in the back. Also, I like the fact that the garage goes right through with another door in the back. We're pretty much settled in and things are getting a little more calm.

This is the garage which someday will be my "man cave". I've already started and some pics will be posted as progress continues.
But the reason I haven't been posting a lot is because we're having a great time out here and there's just so much to do. Within a month off moving here we met some wonderful people who have taken us in as one of their group and we've been riding with them on a regular basis. We meet every Sunday morning and ride to Fox's floating bar/restaurant for our "church breakfast".  We've got some longer trips planned with them already and we feel very lucky to have found them and been accepted so quickly.
We've also been going to many of the functions and events in our town since we got here.  The two moves have kept us extremely busy but we've taken some time to enjoy the life of this wonderful little town.

Instead of having all the children in town roaming the streets on Halloween, they close off the main street in town and have everyone meet there for trick-or-treating and music and games and it was just a fabulous evening. The local merchants are there with goodies for the kids and the entire street is filled with both young and old in costumes ranging from silly to downright scary.

And then there's the holiday parade of lights on the river. Faith went down there and got some nice photos of the decorated boats that float up and down the channel

The weather was perfect and it was another of the things that happen in this town that make it a wonderful place to live.  There seems to be something to keep you busy just about every weekend. Especially from October thrugh May when it becomes like paradise here and the seasonal folks come back and the weekends are filled with events and shows and there's always something to do.

We got a chance to ride to "Temple Bar" which is along Lake Mead up near the Hoover Dam. I believe it's named that because the rock formation is supposed to look somewhat like a temple.  But whatever the reason or the name, it was a great ride and the scenery and food was fantastic !  We did almost 300 miles that day to get lunch !
I thought that I'd like to take part in some of the festivities in town so I decided to ride in the annual Christmas Parade of Lights on Main Street. It's hard to see in the pictures but Laura and I put some blinking lights on the trike and we rode along Main Street with the other holiday vehicles. I've already bought a few hundred more lights and I think that I'll be ready for next year!

So forgive me for my lack of upkeep on this blog but check back soon and check back often because I will be starting to post updates on a more regular basis.  Thanx and we'll see you soon.
