I started this blog because I love to take motorcycle trips both local and around the country. And I love finding that roadside attraction or quaint town and of course the best places to eat. So I'd like to share my adventures with friends old and new. And I would like to hear about yours. Feel free to share. What's the nicest ride you've ever taken? The most scenic ride? The longest ride? Rallies you've been to with thousands or a solo ride? The town you fell in love with? The food that you'd go back for? Talk about the motorcycle shops along the way. We all love a warm friendly face. As they say, a picture is worth a thousand words, so use them to help others share your experience.

DAY 3

Today was an nice day. We got away from the heavy city driving and the traffic flowed nicely. Everyone was considerate and we started to see some of the open spaces as we got farther from the northeast. Since we weren't in a big rush we took a county road through part of Indiana and got to see some of the locals. It reminded me of Lancaster PA because there were a lot of Amish and Mennonites tending their fields or riding down the street in their horse-drawn buggies. We were able to visit three dealerships and got to our hotel around 4:30. It helped a bit to gain an hour as we crossed into Central Standard Time. The hotel has a nice lounge so we got a couple of salads and beers and now it's time to wind down. Today's leg was scheduled for about 225 miles but we clocked 295.
What a difference in the driving experience as we get into the open farmlands. I noticed that every time someone was aggressive or did something stupid, we'd see NY or PA plates as they flew by. We started to see more motorcycles on the road, also. Most had bags and luggage strapped all over them so I guess a lot of bikers are racking up some miles. The weather was absolutely perfect for riding! We got lucky and the skies were just overcast enough to keep us out of the direct sun but we had no rain at all so far.
We're looking forward to tomorrow's ride because we should get to Milwaukee to check out the Harley Museum and the Harley Headquarters.
